                                        A Note From Jo

The Lewis Mountain Olde Thyme Herb Fair comes with a few issues. However, Judy Lewis blessed me with the Lewis Mountain name, and the names of truly talented artisans from all counties and states. However, in recent days Judy has become aware that the use of “Lewis Mountain” would give her legal liability. Also, to avoid confusion from “Olde Thyme Herb Fair” being used in other festival names a name change is in order. I do not want the fair to start with blemishes, or to be mistaken for other festivals, but rather seek to honor Lewis Mountain and you, one of the talented artisans that showcased their work there. For these reasons the festival will be called “Appalachian Mountain Artisans Fest”.  Also, It has been brought to my attention that October 9-10 of 2010, falls on Columbus Day weekend.  For this reason I have decided to extend the show to include October 8th as well as 9-10th 2010.

                              A Letter From Judy Lewis

Dear Friends,
I want to start by saying thank you so much for being such a loyal vendor and especially a loyal friend to “Lewis Mountain Olde Thyme Herb Fair”, and myself, but as you know, sadly the fair came to a close in 2008. Due to circumstances, false pretenses, and mishandling of the “Olde Thyme Herb Fair” name, I will be guiding a friend and fellow business owner, Jo Hall of Hilltop Designs, in re-opening the fair. Neither Jo nor I have any connections to Wheat Ridge Festival taking place this year. Since my business is up for sale, the fair will be moved to Jo’s location. With all my heart, I want this fair to be carried on in the same tradition I would have, and I believe Jo is the right person to do this. Jo worked at Lewis Mountain and participated as a vendor for 15 years, she has a feel for the serene country setting, quality of crafts and foods needed to make the “Olde Thyme Herb Fair” a success. Jo will bring revenue back to my loyal friends and into the counties. Together, Jo and I have set the date for the usual weekend as in the past, which will be October 9th and 10th of 2010. I will be giving Jo as much guidance that I can, but mostly I give her my blessings! I hope you will join Jo next year and keep the fair alive. Jo will be hosting the “Lewis Mountain Olde Thyme Herb Fair” at her location; 9764 Tri-County Road in Winchester, Ohio 45697, which is located at the border of Adams and Brown counties. A field of sunflowers, pumpkins, and a corn maze will surround you. There is plenty of parking for customers, vendors and campers. Jo’s location is still in a rural country setting, but yet is highly visible from St. Rt. 32, where approximately 1,000 cars pass per hour. She is also situated off of St. Rt. 62, and seconds off of St. Rt. 32, and is easily accessible from Cincinnati, Columbus, and Kentucky. Enclosed are the booth fees and directions. Jo will follow up with the beginning stages of activities, class schedules, vendor map, and other information. Your Questions can be directed to Jo at (937)695-5545 or visit my website; www.mtherbs@com.  Again, thank you so much for being such a loyal vendor and friend. I hope the future of the fair is as successful as in the past 21 years.
